Pheasants fall in St. Paul, 10-3
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The St. Paul Saints grabbed an early lead and never looked back to hand the Sioux Falls Pheasants a 10-3 loss on Wednesday night. The Pheasants dropped to 16-5 in the second half, but they remain in first place in the North Division.

Ole Sheldon collected the first of three run-producing singles in the bottom of the third inning to give the Saints a 1-0 lead. His second came in the third inning along with an RBI double from Brent Krause to make it 3-0. Sheldon was 3-for-5 with four RBI.

The Pheasants notched their first run in the top of the fourth on Hunter Jobes run-scoring triple. He later doubled in a run to finish 2-for-4 with two RBI.

But the Saints responded with two solo home runs off Travis Kane in the bottom of the fourth from Josh Petersen and Josh Alley. Alley was 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Kane (3-5) allowed seven runs and nine hits over 5 2/3 innings of his start. He walked three and struck out four.

Zach Peterson (6-3) pitched six solid innings for the win, limiting the Pheasants to one run and five hits. He walked two and fanned seven.
